They have their Thanksgiving holiday on a Thursday rather than make a weekend out of it.

We make a 4-day weekend out of it.

He doesn’t represent the majority of the American people, just remember that.

Ha! Four day weekend, bruh.

Why stop at a weekend when we can make it into a four-day holiday? Most kids have the whole week off from school and many families take off the whole week, so many of us have 8 days away from the office.

See, non-Americans just don’t appreciate the genius that Americans sometimes display. By doing it on Thursday we not only get a four-day holiday but the actual holiday is on the first day so we get three days of peace and quiet to recover and enjoy leftovers.

No they have Thanksgiving for what they have on the Thursday so they can go get more on the Friday, then still have the weekend off.
Genius really.

all y’all having a 4-day weekend and looking forward to more vacation for xmas: You all suck. As of tomorrow i’ll not have a single day off again until xmas day. And I will work 10+ hours every one of them. I never used to hate the holidays, but I sure do now.

I’m just enjoying the fact that it’s one of the few occasions I can be away from the office without anyone pestering me about work stuff on a day off. Just because I don’t get paid to work weekends for the next month doesn’t mean I won’t be working.

Ah, but the Americans famously live to work. I’d guess most of them knuckle down again for the Friday. For them, Christmas ends midway through Christmas day and they’re back at work the following day.
The French, on the other hand, talk about “faire le pont”, to make the bridge.

Of course. The original inhabitants were so delighted to meet their new colonial oppressors that they gave them everything they had, including their country.

Our president does not offend me. Our president elect (he is not sworn in yet, thus is not president) deeply offends, angers, and worries me.

LOL Must of us have Friday off too. Aka its a long weekend. Bruh

Thus why I called him president elect.
And he offends, angers, and worries the whole world.

Less than 1 in 5 of us voted for him, but that was far too many...

I made it 5!

The only Americans that work the day after Thanksgiving are the ones required to do so by their employers. At least many stores made a point of not being open on Thanksgiving Day this year, reversing a recent trend.
I made it a 5 day weekend, fwiw.
